Black area in LCD

I have a BC100xlt and in the screen is black around the edges. It is creeping up in the display to where I can't see the lock out letters (L/O). The scanner works great. Is the screen toast? Is there a way to fix it?

LCD's go bad like this over time. I've never heard of a fix. Replace display.

Agreed, the display has a break in it somewhere and the fluid that makes up the liquid in the liquid crystal display is flowing in between the layers of glass. It will continue to do so over time and will only get worse, never better.

Anyone have a bc100xlt they would let go for postage. Doesn't have to work just have a good display.

I have a scanner that also has a corner of display leaking but its stayed where its at and hasnt got worse.
