Looking for suggestions on a Base Amplifier with built in power supply to use with a Galaxy Saturn Turbo, DK 1 to 17 watts without built in amp turned on? Using IMAX 2000 antenna. Thanks

The only base amplifiers that Boomer has ever made are a small 2 pill and a 4 pill with all 1446 finals. They both also had a small built in power supply. Neither of these will work with your high powered radio though. You will need something like this.

With either of these you will have to make sure you keep the variable dialed back on the radio so you don't over drive them. There are other amp builders out there besides X-Force. Your only other option would be to run a tube amp.

You could also run this amp with your radio wide open but it is very expensive. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. Being I have a switch installed to turn off the internal amplifier on the radio I thought I might be able to to run a bigger external amp than what the radio would produce itself. It produces right around 190 I believe when switch is on and really cant remember when off but I was thinking around 40 forward swing when switch off. Looks like some really nice amps in the links you supplied. Really appreciate your advice, it's been 20 years + since I have tinkered with radios and seems like a lot has changed. Once again I thank you for your time and advice. Steve

If you can turn off the amplifier section of your radio then yes, a smaller base amp will work. Just remember to never have an oops moment or you will blow the amp. Also keep in mind for anyone to even notice you must double your power. You will want to run at least 400 watts or it will be pointless.

Yes a oops moment would be very bad! Really that's why I was wondering if like a Boomer Deluxe 400 or 600 would work also with the built in power supply to run a mobile as well if needed. Your info has been very helpful, guess it's just a matter of what's best for that senecio I have and also easy on the wallet. Thanks again Steve
