Just wait until propagation opens to Africa on a regular basis. I find 15m is a great band from here in Nova Scotia to Africa.Twenty is good as well but more crowded than 15m is.

@ AWP:Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
