Dioden.jpg

Ubove is examples of diodes,( the BR-820 is a bridge, disregard it) the have two leads, one on each side, and will have a band on one end.
The diode number should be listed (silkscreened) on the pc board, look for D 80
, now flip the radio over and find were the two legs or leads come through the board. Using a small soldering iron, and some solder wick, remove the solder from one of the leads, and pull it up from the top of the board, so that one side is not connected.
This is assuming that you are comfortable with your soldering skills.
If not, have some one that is do it for you, its not that hard, but if not done properly, you can bugger up your radio.

clipping is fine just clip in the middle of the longest lead so theres enough to solder it back closed if you dont like the result.

Yes the D-80 is under the echo board.Remove the echo board(2 screws)it's right in front of the large transformer on the right side of the radio towards the back if your looking at the radio with the speaker cover removed. It' a small diode so you gotta look close. Hope this helps ya! bigun297 8) (p.s) like he said just lift one leg of the diode or clip it in the middle just in case you want to solder it back one day.
