My 40 year old simlex power supply got hot n died.
I started smelling hot electrical componets.i shut it off ,removed the top n fired it back up.transformer was only 90 degrees in an 84 degree room .but as i moved my led heat gun around 2 little round things were 140 and 160 degrees.
Called a decent radio tec n he said i got what burned up .put em in others.
So im hoping i can get another 40 years out of it haha id be over 100 years old too.

It's called a no contact pyrometer. The red light is the focus point on the heat sensor. Do you know if they diodes, or capacitors or maybe even transistors? Pictures?

No sir i am not lectric parts savvy. But my tec said 15 bucks parts n labor. I kinda wanted an excuse to slip in a sick radio for him to fix without my dishwasher n sammich maker knowing ... Shhh. And yes it it a portable pryometer

She'll use that pyrometer to measure the fire she lights under your butt if you get caught!
That's a good price for the repair.

I was thinkin warrenty haha

Just when you're ready to ship it, don't sound to eager to "go shopping for parts" - else she'll get suspicious and head to the door to cut you off and hand you coupons and say - get these too...

The spoiler is from the moment she sees you leaving with a box in your hand...
shh i already got it n radio loaded in my pickup

Andy don’t got no V8, he has a Jetson car, ain’t you ever read none of his fancy post? I’m convinced he’s figured out how to make flying cars, probably got his time machine built in a DeLorean.
