Daton HAMvention

I do Huntsville and Orlando every year,.... after the river of Pee (and other lumpy objects) at Dayton a few years ago, you won't see me there until Hara arena gets improved (which won't happen)

They really need to find a better facility. Hara is a terrible facility and that's supposed to be the big U.S. showcase for amateur radio.

I'd go again, but I'm not sure if I can make it this year. I might do Pacificon, though.

The ham wife and I make the yearly 705 mile trip again this year. I just love going through the flea market looking for boat anchors so that I can flip them and sell them hopefully for a profit.

I picked this Drakes up for $400.00 last year and the transmitter was dead. I have since added all of the Sherwood mods to the R4C and added a DDS VFO which gives it full WARC band coverage as well as shortwave (it is not shown here). The transmitter had a dead final, replaced it and it now does about 160 watts. I will be keeping these until a see a worthwhile trade. LOL

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned
