galaxy33 troubles

ive got a galaxy 33 hml, the tx/rx light will not work,it has no receive or transmit.tr 30 has no power ive replaced tr 38 -36-37 with no luck anybody got any ideas

Sounds like the PLL is out of lock.

Really? No TX light is typical of PLL unlock due to open circuit. Yes it could be the 8v rail/regulator is dead; but first blush would be to test the PLL/loop osc.

OK you're right; he has a voltage supply problem.
Had to re-read his first post.

he needs to check to see if he has power at the PA AM switch. even see if the PA works as it should for starters. could be just a dirty connection at the switch. so many things can cause this. since it has been 2 days since it was posted he may not even come back.

I am wondering if the meter light and Led for channel read out is working.?

yes meter light and led is working.i changed the pll too still the same thing.the pa is working though,im missing something

check for bad solder joints around the audio ic, 10.240 crystal and the vco area. bad joint can cause a dead radio if the vco is not running. make sure you have voltage leaving the pa cb switch in the cb mode.

I changed d78 still same thing no voltage at tr 30 tr 36-37 -38 don't have the right voltage either
