Had Rex mod done on 880 & now not receiving weather

Anyone know what could be the problem? Radio shows tuned on the frequency but not receiving any weather. Swapped radios to make sure it wasn't my antenna and worked fine on my uniden 980 but 880 is dead. Normal cb channels working fine

Undo the garbage mod that screwed up your radio and learn from the experience.

When CBRadioMagazine did his review on the 980, he had to adjust the sensitivity or something like that on account the his 980 was not receiving WX good enough but got it to receive better.

Is there a separate adjustment in the pcb just for the WX band? op:

If one is out to improve the wx receive why not just buy a cheap duplexer and run the appropriate antenna for VHF WX reception? The golden screw driver isn't always the answer.

He did say on his video that the gain on the WX part of the radio was low and I think he turned a pot or two and got the WX's receive gain up enough to where he could pick up NOAA WX stations clearly.

Ok, CBRadioMagazine said that the squelch for the weather frequencies were turned up too high so he played with the internal WX squelch settings to where he could pick up all the WX channels.


He mentions it at 7 minutes into the first video on this page.
