Ham versus Tweets...

My wife makes all natural tweets, with oats and peanut butter and all sorts of good stuff. The dogs love them and we feel good feeding them!

I didn't bother to read TFA, but I guess I don't get why amateur radio should "die" in the face of online services. They are two completely different ways of communicating for different reasons. I also don't quite see why Twitter is considered amongst some as the "latest and greatest" means of communication that should obsolete all others. It seems to me that all methods should be able to coexist.

I'm not a Ham but I figured I would put my 2 cents in anyways. I think VOICE conversations are much better! I also refuse to use any of the lingo associated with on line/cell talk. Things like "U" instead of "you".:sneaky2: But I do like the little faces!

No one says ham radio should "die" in the face of online services or that all methods should be not able to coexist but whether or not it WILL die or if all methods WILL exist. People change as technology changes and the interest in amateur radio is not what it used to be. Offer the average youth today the option of a 2m or an HF radio or an I-Phone and see what he chooses.
