Midland usually offers the buyer a fairly priced radio with decent features, but I got to thinking about their SSB rigs and wondered if they ever put one out with good adjacent channel rejection.....

I've owned a few of them -
13-880B (10watt 23ch) was just like the 13-885 with less output.

The Midland "Superbase"

and the 79-290.

None were up to par with an SBE, Uniden, President when it came to adjacent channel rejection/front-end over loading, but I know that had other models....so let me know about 'em

I have the 79-290...it isn't even close to the Uniden Grant LT I have on RX. If the Grant is a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give the Midland a 6. It's better than average, much better than many Magnum exports I've tried, but not even close to some of the better units around.
