Is the above better than the Wilson 5000?

No way to tell, one plays on 2m and the other 11m. You need an 11m (CB) band antenna.

CB / 11 meters is 27.965.0 - 27.405.0 2 meters is 144.100 - 148.000 so 2 meters is far away from 11 meters.

Ok what is a 2 meter setup???

I never understood what 2m, 6m 10m, 20m, 40m - and so on - meant until I started studying radio in earnest from this site - almost 2 years ago.

It is simple to understand - really.
(That is - if I got it right -)

Example:
"Frequency" is the length it takes for one complete electrical cycle to develop - from positive peak to negative peak and back again. RF radiation is a form of alternating current at a very fast rate - or "frequency". 2m - or "2 meters" - is the physical length of that frequency. ~146.000mhz wave length is 2 X 1 meter (or 3.3 ft long) or 6.6 ft. A full wave length antenna at 2m would be 6.6 ft long.

As frequency increases in mhz; the length of that full wave shortens.
As frequency decreases on mhz; the length of that full wave lengthens.

11 meters (the CB frequency of ~27mhz) is ~36.3 ft long. A 'half wave' antenna is 1/2 of that length; and so on (1/4 wave, 5/8 wave, 3/4 wave, 7/8 wave).
Each "megahertz" is one million cycles per second of AC radiation.

Hope that helps . . .
