I originally bought a 101E from a guy from QRZ it got here deaf, I paid a lot of money too, reason for that board on my table. I went through it twice and gave up. Ended up trading for a new Uniden Washington Base that came out of an old CB Shop. Then I found a 101EX that worked right out of the box, got the correct freq counter and use it a lot on and off. I love it
