You got these types CB shops and some truck stops sell. You'll need a set for each whip if you want fast change out.
I just carry 2 wrenches (main wrench and backup) and can change whips just about as quick.
That should work. I see where MFJ ferrules with each having different internal diameter. I need a bigger one for my 72" Sirio whip. It's a thicker whip, but is stout.
I'm always conscious of my whip and low overhead dangers, but the wife isn't. I want to be able to take whip off before she drives. The overall coil assembly is low enough for most hazards. When I relocate my antenna forward, I'll use a quick release at the base or a foldover mount.
I need to remove whip at the house before she drives, otherwise I'll need to carry a stepstool to reach the whip.

My observations of using the 56" whip isn't anything other than perceived anecdotal blather.
It does seem to work rather well over the 32". I see a little more tuned bandwidth. I am pleased with just how much. I'm definitely interested in the MFJ telescopic whip for parked operation.

You'll be more than amazed by increased TX/RX signals on 40 & 80m.
You'll also be visually amazed for what'll look like an Antron 99 height equivalent on your mobile antenna!

It may look ridiculously funny but it instantly turns your little ineffecient mobile HF antenna into a near base station like vertical.
The MFJ 16.9ft telescoping whip is 1/4 wavelength on 20m. You'll have to collapse it a section or so to compensate for the extra Tarheels length and you'll use just a little bit of coil to tune it. Highly efficient this way on 20m.
You could experiment collapsing the antenna for 17m thru 10m to get near 1/4 wavelengths on each band. Just make notes on how many sections to collapse for each band. It doesn't have to be exact because you'll still need a bit of coil to fine tune it. There are 10 sections on the 16.9ft whip to play with.
Because you can’t run an amp with the Tarheel 2 (150w max) this will be a near equivalent. I checked once with a stock 3ft whip against the telescoping whip with100w on 40m. Nearly up to 2 S units was gained on the other ends receiver. Not an exact science but still shows a significant increase.
Go get that MFJ- 1979 today!
I’m pleased with the half-dozen or so stainless HUSTLER QDs I have around here. Some in use many years.
That said, the BREEDLOVE QD is an obvious step up. (Not to mention fold-over versions).

I ordered the Hustler QD-1. I'm putting it on top of the Tarheel for quick whip removal until I move the whole antenna forward.
When I move the Tarheel forward, I'll be using the Breedlove 4.5" Puck fold-over. Instead of removing the whip, I'll fold whole unit down on top of the Jeep.

I do like the FT-891. It's small, but the screen is large and real easy to read. Once you set the least used items in the menu and program the front 3 buttons, there's little fidgeting afterwards.
I've never owned a Kenwood TS-480. I'm leaning towards getting one. The detached head is definitely huge and easy to see. The 200 watt version would be the ticket. My Tarheel handles 200 watts, so the 480HX's 200 watt output would definitely help a smidgen.
