Removed hot line from psu which is black, tied it to black wire coming out of switch capped em together now middle wire went to + line on psu the 3rd wire is neutral works good now.
your power switch should have NOTHING to do with the neutral line.
if you have incorporated your neutral (white wire labeled 'N') into your power switch then you have done something wrong and dangerous.
with the way it looks in your picture, depending on how you connect it, you will be directly shorting your hot AC line to your neutral and will hopefully pop your circuit breaker before it damages anything else.
the way it should be will be like this:
on your AC plug, you will notice that the two prongs aren't the same width.
one of them is wider than the other, which corresponds to a wider hole in the outlet, thereby forcing you to plug it in a certain orientation.
the smaller prong is the HOT (black wire, labeled L) wire, and the wider prong is the NEUTRAL (white labeled N) wire.
take the wire from the HOT side of the AC cord, and wire it to the middle terminal in your switch.
now take the wire that goes from the "L" terminal on your power supply and connect it to one of the other terminals on your switch.
now take that white wire off of the switch and throw it across the room.
now check your switch and make sure that the two terminals with wires on them are connected when the switch is flipped UP.
if they are connected when the switch is flipped DOWN, then take the wire off of the one end terminal and put it on the other end terminal.
rocker switches work 'opposite' meaning that when the switch is up, the middle and bottom terminals will be connected.
when the switch is down, the top and middle terminals will be connected.
