Multi-band & Wilson 1000

With that said would it make sense to keep the wilson tuned for 11m and tune the Sirio for 10m and have the best of both worlds?

sure could. either from what ive read here the sdirio needs trimmed even for 11 meters
so the sirio will need it for 10 meters.the wilson is close with 11 meters outta box
but with a big hand file or grinding wheel and mfj 259 anylizer ive seen slightly better
results.

alright, sounds like a plan and i'll post the results.
here's another question. the grant's bandplan:

A 26965-27405
B 27405-27855
C 26515-26955
D 27865-28305
E 26065-26505
F 28315-28755
G 25615-26055
H 28765-29205
I 29215-29655
J 29665-30105

How should I go about 'organizing' which channel banks I use with each antenna?

I tuned my Sirio 5000 from 1:7 on 26.950 to 1:8 on 28.740 with my MFJ-259. They do very well on more than 1 band. I ran Wilson 1000's and 5000's. And none of them could come close to my Sirio's.

I just want to add that I do have more than 1 of each antenna.

Look at the range on a MFJ-269 25.708 to 28.730 with less than 2.0

Watch that change in the 'X', that's the biggy, not the SWR. That 'X' should be '0' if possible, and as close to '0' as you can get it. No matter what the SWR meter reads, if that 'X' is more than '0' then the antenna is not tuned very well.

on my z180 the x =0 most of times. does go up too 2-3 near orat 10 meters but thats not
bad at all without ANY tuning. the ohms or R is off though R= 35 at 11 meters. if i get
it set close to 50 ohms then X is way off .so i just left it be

the sirio isnt going to cover all those especially H,I,J. at best A,B,D this will PROBALY be it.
without shortening the whip for band F,H,I,J. bands C,E,G will need to lenthen whip
you really need a mfj 259b to do what you wanting to do
the wilson will only cover band A unless you lenthen the whip or shorten the whip

Thanks for the info, just what I was looking for! Ill have to put on the ol' thinking cap and figure out what banks are more worthwhile to have I guess

also just thought of this. are you licenced to talk on all those. if licenced for SOME
of it then that will narrow out the bands you cant talk on

Good thought. Personally I'm licensed enough to utilize all of the freq's. Just trying to get the most usability out of the radio and antennas
