Hi,
I was using this photo to find the RT206 pot to tune down the watts for a KL203 amp.

Sorry this is on a Uniden 980!

When I opened the CB though the 206 pot is in a different spot than the pic?

Mis labeled?

I don't know my RT 206 pot is labeled "AMC" and where it says it should be is labled RT203 AM PWR!

I assume to just use the RT206 AMC to adjust anyway but thought I would ask?

Thanks!

Hi,
Ok to make this clearer, what the guy is calling RT206 Dead Key is RT203 AM PWR on my radio???

I guess after thinking that "AM PWR" would be the right pot to adjust?

Maybe I mixed my numbers?

Looking for conformation now before proceeding!

Thanks!

Hi,
Well it's done!

The radio measured 2.5 watts on the mike and I tuned it to 1.0 for the amp.

Everything works but could not get anyone up for a check, try tomorrow!

Hi,
Got out today and got an answered radio check on CH 19 AM.

They said the radio sounded good and they were about 3 miles away?

Dosen't tell me much but I am getting out after the mod work so felt good about that and I didn't have to send the radio off!

I'm making an Interstate trip soon so will be able to get more input later!

Hello seagiant: Yes the 3 mile radio check is a valid good radio check verifying the radio and antenna is working. At 3 miles you have approx. 75 dB of free space loss or attenuation.

Hi,
Thanks Jay!

I made a 12 mile CH 19 AM contact today!

Not super strong, but very readable and I was happy about that!

Looks like the mod and that little Italian Amp, is going to work!!!!

Looking to try the SSB mode, now more!!!

Here's a pic of everyone in their new homw, notice the ex. speaker!

Sounnds WAY better than the radio speaker!!!
