Does this mean that there is no longer any distinction between 23ch & 40 ch as long as the radio has an FCC acceptance sticker? Sure seems that way to me.

I've read not quite all of the FCC rules about CB's as they are today and find no mention (as yet) of the legality of 23 ch radios in and of themselves.

TITLE 47--TELECOMMUNICATION

CHAPTER I--FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION (CONTINUED)

PART 95_PERSONAL RADIO SERVICES--Table of Contents

Subpart D_Citizens Band (CB) Radio Service

Sec. 95.409 (CB Rule 9) What equipment may I use at my CB station?

(a) You must use an FCC certificated CB transmitter at your CB
station. You can identify an FCC certificated transmitter by the
certification label placed on it by the manufacturer.
You may examine a
list of certificated equipment at any FCC Field Office or at FCC
Headquarters. Use of a transmitter which is not FCC certificated voids
your authority to operate the station.
(b) You must not make, or have made, any internal modification to a
certificated CB transmitter. (See CB Rule 25, Sec. 95.425). Any
internal modification to a certificated CB transmitter cancels the
certification, and use of such a transmitter voids your authority to
operate the station.

My understaing is that if the CB was once type accepted, that it can still be used.

But it is illegal to sell those CBs.

Probably illegal as a 23ch won't meet current type acceptance. Moot point as no one is making them anymore.

Used sales does not apply

I think that is the key to the selling and buying....then again-what do I know:redface:

Where the hell do they come off just making up words. Certificated isnt even a real word. The correct word is Certified!!!

There is a college locally that advertises they offer a degree in "Accountancy"??? The word is Accounting!!!

What is wrong with these people?

Sorry to get sidetracked, but this stuff bugs me.
