Are you talking about a receive panadapter?
If so, it is a suitable candidate. The 930 has a first IF of 44.93 MHz, which is well within the tuning range of the USB tuner dongles.
On the RF unit, a suitable tap point would be the RIF connector, this is the 44.93 1st IF signal (receive).

not for a panadapter --->
as a replacement IF system, audio output, etc,
..with reason being, use the new capabilities of
DSP/SDR radio...eg, Perseus, SDRPlay, those kind of things...
and keep the other stuff from 'traditional transceiver' ( the PA and freq readout)
which I assumed (older XCVR)you could get for 500 bucks on EBAY,
but I looked there, and OOPS, there were not as many as I thought there would be.
On the other hand, you can buy an Icom IC-7410 for 1300USD or so.
so maybe my idea does not make sense.
I just hate to buy something when
it appears that receiver technology is about to make
a big change.
alternate idea is buy a FLEX1500 and build a kit 100Watt PA.
anybody around here try that route?
Sorry for rambling post, as I am trying to
come up to speed on new receiver design.
Bonus question. what happened to old Drake C-line rigs?,
there must have been thousands built.
