Other inputs?

Hi there, this is Scott ... a new voice in the crowd. I've heard mention of other inputs to the system (2M?) I'm down in HB and commute the 605 daily. Is there a better input I should be using than 444.500 MHz with CTCSS 100.0 Hz? Thanks!

There IS a VHF input, Scott, but you have to obtain it from the repeater 'owners', K9KAO or N6DTO.

It's a secondary freq mainly for use when the UHF input is shut off due to malicious interference situations.

I find the UHF input works better for me, so I seldom use the VHF anyway.

Thanks, IRK. Yeah, DTO emailed me this week. Also, I'm realizing I'm getting in quite good on the UHF input now that I got my antenna sorted. I'll keep this in mind though in case of jamming, etc. — Scott
