Can anyone help.have a ranger rci 2950dx. Doesn't seen to keep memory, have 10,11 and 12 meter band, when radio is turned off then back on again. I lose the 11 meter band and end up with only the 10 and 12 meter band.
    Any info would be helpful.

How old is the radio? It could be a bad memory retention capacitor. Do you also lose all preset memories? Also how is the mod done? Using just the jumper pins or does it have the E-chip installed on a short pigtail inside?

    Many thanks
For getting back to me, it has the e chip installed. I think you might be right about the memory capacitor. I rang a friend who normally sees to my radios. And he thinks the same. Sounds like it will be a quick fix.

I forget which capacitor it is but Google should tell you. IIRC it is on the board behind the front panel but don't take my word on that.

    Hi
Hope you can help on. This one, I have just fitted a 4dx cpu in to ranger rci 2950dx, everything is working button functions, but when mike is keyed or I start to modulate only have two of the bars lit up instead of all of them. What is causing this to happen. Any ideas on this

RF power setting either on the front panel or the internal adjustment pots is turned down. Either that or a final is blown or maybe it just needs an alignment. I would cgeck the power adjustments first. They are often dicked with to run it with an amp.
