Looks like they were adding extra filtering caps across the +12V. That's what the 2 large caps are connected to. The smaller caps look like they are in the mic audio circuit, so I suspect the person was doing some kind of "hi-fi" audio mod.
Is the guy any good? Either way it looks like we're saying filter caps have been replaced and a hi fi audio mod does this HiFi audio mod affect a.m., FM, Sideband,???

There is not one trace of speaker wire in there! LOL
the work itself seems nice enough. heat shrink tubing, and wire ties.
talk about overkill though!
i'll bet the lights stay on for 5 to 10 seconds when the power is turned off.
Not sure if its a hi fi mod though, as these caps usually only get upgraded to a 1uF or maybe a 2.2uF in the more extreme cases.
it looks as though someone just really liked the idea of using electrolytics to filter the crap out of the audio section.
I'd be willing to bet that each one of those caps has one leg that goes to ground.
