Can anyone tell me if 6JF6 tubes can be use in a D & A Phantom 500 Amp. in place of the 6MJ6/6LQ6. I was told that they can. The 6JF6 tubes a less expensive.

6JE6 tubes can be used, but they are probably just as hard to get, you can convert it to take the EL-509/519 though.

Most economic, and reliable thing to do, would be to convert to EL-509's,,,or just buy a more current up to date amp,,,

As much as it pains me to say this,,,,,,a solid state amp wouldnt be a bad idea.....

however....

Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
