Ok guys whats the deal with this little board? anyone have it. does it work not work? and is there any way i could make it work on side band?? perhaps in a cobra 139xlr?? allrighty fellas 73's 202 OUT :p

I'll give the dead horse one kick, your right on Master Chief. Give your radio a nice clean correct tune and alignment with variable power and get a good amp.

stinger boards

I have used the 60 and the 203 and had great luck....i make a small metal box and screw it under the radio.....I put a fan where the speaker goes and I buy the heat sink or make one......when bought on sale the 203 is worth it.....\\\

just dont think you can lay one on the circuit board of your radio.....make a little steel or alum box.

I use these on cobras and such and turn them down to one or two watts input into the amp. and run a heavy power cord.\

yes you may find a box ready to go for the same price if your labor is worth anything...lol

If you take the time to full enclose the amp and adequately heat-sink it, then its ok. The thing is, by the time you get all that work into it, plus the cost of the amp board itself, you might as well have spent 130 bucks on a small 225 and gotten alot more power.

STINGER BOARDS

I agree with you my friend as far as the thing of if it is worth all you have to do.
BUT IF you can do the job yourself it is much cheaper. I just moved and have not yet put it to the bird.....I BET that 203 does good to go 100 watts on bird.....I always just put just two watts in and the klm stuff lives.
be blessed,

I have installed a couple of these and you have to put rf sheilding around them and completely enclose them inside. i also use rg178 to tie them into the radio. on top of that you have to set you deadkey and swing right to get them to work right. but that would be the same for any amp. the biggest issue is shielding. If you dont do that it reaks havoc on the radio with all the stray rf. the last one i did i set the dead key around 2-3 watts and let it swing to 10 but no more. that yeilded 15dk and 30 watts on wing 60 pep wichever reading you want ot go by. It seems to be an ok deal if you want to go stealth. but other than that it takes some work to get them working right.
