My radio hiss less on FM han that Uniden on AM. Who broke it so badly?

See the goodwill tag on it. I bought a pile of radios . The radio has great tx audio but rx issues. I havent found the problem. Sometimes rx goes out. Pressure on the board brings it back.
Its a experiment radio. Im feeding audio in from 2 places. Its not quite hifi or direct but its the best ive ever heard otherwise.
