Things you've learned in life...general observations

Getting thrown in a Mexican jail probably won't make a great story to tell your children about someday.

What are some of the things that you have learned the hard way in life? I know that most of us have learned some difficult or expensive lessons over the years.

Probably the one that comes to mind first for me is "never trust someone with a name like True/Honesty/etc". There is a a reason they use names like that...it's kind of like playing poker against a guy named after a city, never a good thing.

You can always trust a mack.:)

If your marriage ends in divorce, do not try to do it without an attorney's help, even if you both are on fairly good terms.

When the other person in the divorce decides to screw you, make sure you have a better attorney, even though it will cost you an arm & a leg.

Divorce is more like a game of poker than any other "game" on the planet.

Women go crazy for a few years when they turn 30.

Women go crazy for a few years when they turn 30.

In my experience, women go crazy once a month for about a week.

Yep, the 30's is a tuff time too.

Then there is the big four O...

50 is again really tuff, and shortly thereafter, there is menopause, which is a real drag...

Then retirement age starts knocking and the health issues...

Mix in there above the motherhood calling, empty nest syndrome, the how it's a "man's" world, selective equality, penis envy, estrogen aggression, brest cancer...

It must suck to be a woman, but then, if there is divorce, you usually get the better end of the stick.

An internet related lesson I learned recently...

Beware any forum that encourages/begs for donations AND has multiple paid sponsors that are also moderators of the forum. When you see that happen, I assure you that the people running the forum don't have your best interest in mind. Always do your research before buying, just because one particular forum recommends someone doesn't mean anything other than that they are paying to advertise there.

I've seen it happen on one forum with a certain radio shop and another with a certain..make that TWO different amp builders.

Never trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn't die......

Any man (or woman) that claims they have never masturbated is a liar.....

Career politicians, no matter which party are all liars........

The vast majority of people given a position of authority can not handle it.....

Everyone else on the road is an idiot with the potential of doing something extremely stupid behind the wheel, and don't be so sure about yourself.....

Incoming Region Produces X3 Solar Flare
    May 15, 2024 @ 14:55 UTC
Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned

Please advise me to what is a good replacement mic for my SR-497HPC... Answer: 497 is "wired like Cobra", so many choices available. That radio does not need a power mic, so purchase a stock "coffin style" mic with a decent cord, like the ones that Astatic uses. The Superstar DM-507 is my go-to. https://www.ebay.com/itm/3050474478...adANq91JSiEEnz8EGqPJRBloTgEyaVsBoCtoMQAvD_BwE $12.99 + .99 cent shipping.
