I've always used my ic-7000 on 2 meters, and have recently been given the opportunity to buy a ic-706 and icom ah-4 antenna tuner. My question is do I need a 2 meter antenna as well as another antenna such as a 102" whip hooked to the antenna tuner for the hf bands? Or can I use the 102" whip for hf and 2 meter?

Thanx alot, sorry for the newbie question.

Mike

Is it possible to be on a lake and have a homing directional beam being emitted from the shore so a person could navigate to that beam's source? For example at night to a jetty.
