I know this probably seems like a silly question, but what keeps the ladder line from becoming part of the dipole at the center/feedpoint?
I can see that IF a balun was used at the feedpoint, how this would/could make it the balanced feedline to the shack, and separate it from become part of the actual antenna.
But in these pictures, the cut length of the dipole just becomes part of the ladder line, all one wire.
So what keeps the ladder line from becoming part of the measured dipole? And decoupling? (assuming a balun is used at the other end, entering the shack, if a balun is even used at all)
I just cant wrap my head around it, but im sure there is a logical answer
