I'm using a Radio Shack MTA-20 digital swr/power meter. Please elaborate. Are you saying they're unsafe? How does someone check for leakage?

No what I'm saying is the meter itself is susceptible to RF leakage because the external pickup leads at not shielded properly allowing any cmc's to penetrate.
