I have an LDG tuner for my Icom 7000 and it works great. Connects to and powered by the radio. The tune button on the radio works the tuner.

Nick, I could be remembering this incorrectly, but if the swr of your antenna is good, then that is not going to change. I know this is fairly common when people add an amp in line, this doesn’t change the swr of the antenna system, it has to do with a mismatch. The tech guys can explain.

On my 2970n2 I got great reports on the d104-m6 and the 575 as well. Mine was in a pickup, so really no background noise to cancel.

Recon, the radio is like new, I have the box and whatever it came with. It has been converted. The guy I bought it from had three he had purchased for some property his family had but they opted to go with other type radios so I bought one.

828 I had the 95t2 and 98vhp and both seemed to do ok on SSB to me. Yes both drifted some but most of the sideband use was distant/skip so constantly fiddling with the clarifier was normal anyway. Never have had a local sideband talk group on 11 meters. All that said, the radio is an AM monster.

So if I move the mic to the side on my 98vhp and 95t, will they have full side mic status or will they be considered second class by the side mic elite?

Not sure on highest gain, but I have had excellent results with Larsen 2/70 as well.
