My 2016 withstood some big winds up to 70 MPH. Just right after a year of ownership SWR would spike just for an instant randomly.
Traded a local amp builder the antenna for some amp repair. He took it apart, and it had loose solder joint that just fell apart when he touched it. He made a...
The reason builders don't use CPU processor paste is because that they are too dam expensive.
Super Lube thermal paste is $14.28 for about 85 grams(3 oz.) on Amazon. MX-6 is $11.99 for eight grams.
The MX-4 was good stuff, so I am sure the MX-6 will be good too. I use the MX-4 on CPU processors, and I still have a partial tube.
I have a small container of Dow Corning 340 white paste that I use on everything else like electronic ignitions and etc..
@Brother DXer
Good QSO! You are the first one I have heard in weeks.
Conditions were not good though. I heard you, but did not have any signal. Pre-amped you to an S6, and I could hear you very good. That Stryker always sounds very good!
I have a couple local friends with the 5555 N2, and they are spot on frequency talking SSB. Their radios have not been tuned/aligned...just converted.
Skip was rolling heavy here in NC yesterday evening. Heard three different 5555 N2 radios, and they were all just a tad slow on transmit with...
I will take the 1111...guy over the person that plays clips over and over about bad cops, and then some times adds commentary. He is out west some where.
What's wrong with US postal money orders? You can take one to the post office, and cash it, and then ship the radios right there on the spot. Two birds one stone.
Personally, I don't do Paypal because they kept my money in limbo for almost six months over a scammer. I did eventually get my...
It was dead yesterday here in NC on AM and SSB.
Just after midnight this morning, skip came rolling in on our local channel 34. Fairbanks, Alaska and a Maine station back to back, and I thought they were locals at first. Flipped down to 28, and sure enough skip was rolling.
Here is a good review of this microphone. At least I don't have to eat the microphone like I would a Ranger SRA-198 or an Astatic 636.
Also, does anybody know if this mic will work on the Anytone radios with six pin such as Quad 6?

Here is a link to a grey line map. You can make some very long distance contacts on 11 meter lower SSB.

Hello Marconi,
When I get the antenna, I will measure the diameter of the top and bottom of the wire/coax with digital caliper. The coaxial choke is inside a plastic cover, so I will measure the outside of the choke the best I can.
Local tech friend of mine said they did not have the board. It's been at least two years ago, and I can't remember what he said about enabling 11 meter. I faintly remember it was just moving a capacitor.
