Here's a Tech Special. About 1 year old previously lightly used 500V with gold label HG 2879's. I got it from a friend who got it new and rarely used. Worked great, seeing 525 out with 1 watt dead key on 14.4 volts. Has had Heavy Wire Internal mod performed. I blew it up by accidentally running...
Have a new Factory RCI Hand Mic that came with a 2970 N3 that I'm not using. Will work on any RCI 6 Pin Radio. Really don't have any idea what to ask for it. Didn't see a single one on eBay just now. Make Offer. Shipping with Tracking Number. PayPal Fine
With Cycle 25 in full blast on the higher bands, some of you may be looking for a SSB DX Club to join. This is a good one - World Wide Sideband Group, WWS, Whiskey Whiskey Sugar. Have a Club freq. on 27.370 LSB. Dates back to the 1990's. Tons of guys worldwide. Have a 6.6K Member Facebook Page...
Mildly amusing to consider how some manufacturers want to stretch the math regarding Wavelength Claims on particular-length antennas. I know of two at least that come in at 19 feet long and they are wanting to call them 5/8 types but they would seem to be closer to 1/2 wave. I realize that 5/8...
Looks good, but I question the claim of 5/8 while being only 19 feet long. Same claim from my Sigma Viper 19 footer. But that's a topic for another post. For $400 for this guy .... I would put $70 with that and get the 22.5 foot Colossal 10K from Zero-Five.
The Imax will already work well with a tuner down to 15 meters. If you jury-rig it to go any lower it's probably not going to be efficient at all and you're just forcing a match that the radio will like. If you want 40M portable .... get an antenna made for the band.
Thanks for the tip Guys. Thought I would try one too. They must be floating around a lot of distributors .... Got the Aries Listed one from Amazon and the Emblem on my mic says "Power Mic" .... lol. Very generic. But it is working great. Sounds great. Keying is very quiet with no PTT noise...
First we had Channel 6. Then we were blessed with 28. Now, not to be left out, our Hispanic compadres have turned Ch 9 into the Taco Bowl. God Bless Cycle 25
I guess so. They call the feature Compression for some reason. It knocks the noise down about 25%. Using ANL + NB also helps on noise along with the High Cut Filter. ...... but still this radio is a tad noisy for my taste. I'm thinking about trying an ATone Q6 sometime. Many say the RX is better...
