    MFJ-815D Cross Needle Meter??

These actually were pretty accurate & consistent all through their production runs. A little hard to read due to size but useful. Also even though the switch on the unit is marked avg. &pep if you read the description on the box it says peak power not pep.

Tax refund dreams RCI 69FFB4 or RCI 2970N4 ?

Get a used ts-570d they work very well on am. Pair it with an Ameritron 811 amp And you will have a very good station putting out a solid clean signal. Shop Around, you could do the pair for 800-900 dollars & have all modes covered.

    MFJ-815D Cross Needle Meter??

Yes it does but that is not pep it's peak.

    MFJ-815D Cross Needle Meter??

From what I understand no meter can read PEP only peak power. Peak envelope power occurs so fast that no meter could respond fast enough. Only true way to show pep in on a scope.

    MFJ-815D Cross Needle Meter??

Have a Daiwa 501. Pretty accurate & worth the price, good bench meter for repairs and tune ups. My amp & tuner have meters built in & keep tabs on the real time goings on.

    ROHN 25 setup help/tips??

Use pipe that can be threaded like hardened conduit then use a coupling to step the diameter down. Those clamps are useless in high winds or when everything is loaded with ice & windy. They get brittle & snap. Spend the money once & make it as sturdy as possible, if you don't you will be doing...

ROHN Allowable vs. Effective table help?

No the tapered top would not be useless but the thrust bearing allows for expansion if you wish to put a bigger beam or stack a 6 meter or vhf antenna up there. Plan for the future not the present.

    New property in NC..

While it looks like the load would favor one side the offset is minimal. I had a Yaesu 800 rotor,10' section of rigid conduit for a mast pole through a good thrust bearing, beam was a 20' boom with 4 elements vert. & horiz & a Imax 2000 above the beam. Also at bottom of Hazer is a 8' lenght of...

    New property in NC..

When I had my 4 element beam I had a guide from the bottom of the hazer now all that's up there is a IMAX 2000 and a small 2 meter and 440 vertical I don't have a guide now

    New property in NC..

Spend the extra bucks & get a Hazer for your tower, the older you get the more you will be glad you did. I have a 40 ' Rohn25 with a Hazer & when severe WX is predicted everything comes down to 10' above ground. When I was 55 I could climb that tower like a squirrel now at 72 I would not even...

They may all be wired the same at the mic plug but if the audio line is not moved or jumpered to the hot side of the switch in the base of the mic vox won't work. Radio 101:D
