    Pringles Can CMC Choke

The resonant point will always be where the reactance is lowest even if the swr is not.

Can you test tubes with an ohmmeter for more than shorts?

Sometimes they test good in the tester as there is not a big load on them but will not function when placed in the unit and fully driven.

    Ftdx 1200,3000 991a , IC7300

Hot switching occurs when the amplifier has a faster time going from receive to TX while the radio has not completely gone from receive into Tx. High voltage from the amp can feedback into the radio while the relay is still partially in receive mode causing bookoo damage.

Have the FTDX3000 for a while now. Low noise floor, good close in rejection,tx audio infinitely adjustable with built in eq. Except for the TS-520S sold all my other HF radios, won't part with the old boatanchor. If you notice there are a lot of 7300's for sale, 3000's not so much.

Had a friend years ago did the same thing from his Charger, Battery Charger clamp on a 1/4" cable with a Bass boat anchor on the other end. He would park down by the bulkhead & throw the anchor into the bay & clamp onto the bumper. Talked barefoot to stations from there that I could not even...

What's it gonna take to transmit DX on 11 meters

SSB is more efficient & quieter, also easier on the equipment. Don't know if still applies but used to be a lot of DX around 26.285 usb also many years ago. Mostly from the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium. etc.

What's it gonna take to transmit DX on 11 meters

The ic-718 is a great radio for a new op or an old fart like me. I had two of them in the past. One for a base & one in the truck when I was still doing mobil. Some gripe about no Fm or tuner. Who does FM on 10 meters? Crickets- Built in tuners are as useless as Congress, Get an LDG & you will...
