    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

The issue I have is most motorcycle LED or regular bulbs are rated for the 12v range and not 48v. Also when power is off on the battery with main switch on side of battery it cuts everything so there would be no draw. I ordered in 2 motorcycle turn signals already for the rear forks and have 2...

    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

So road test was interesting. Battery wasn't fully charged. Went 13 miles full level 9 throttle. Battery was at like 47% when I got home and let it settle back in. (Said like 17% with motor in use at that point). Top speed was higher at 32.1 miles per hour on flat (than 22mph with old LED...

    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

Weight hasn't really changed. The kit was like 17 lbs. the bike was 43 lbs. You can still change gears and use regular. Also pedal assist let's you play with gearing as well and you can do little assist on setting 1 or max assist on 9. You can still get a workout or not. Road test...

    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

Controller now in bag. Like a mini tank. Light wired to go on when bike battery is turned on. Just like a real "bike".

    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

New display with 9 speed options vs old 3 speed led display and the new 4 CREE led headlight. Very bright and I angled it down abit as not to blind traffic.

    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

20w Headlight, 110db horn, and crank tool due in tomorrow. Then I can add the pedal assist sensor to the hub. I'm eventually going to get a 48v-12v 10amp down converter and get motorcycle small peg lights for the four corners like marker lights too. Can't be too safe.

    My 1200w/48v EBike Build

So I was going to go with a 50cc scooter and ride to work occasionally. But since the person I'm living with didn't want it in the house I went another direction. I picked up one of the last Mongoose Argus ST26 bikes for $399 from Amzn. Has 4" x 26" fat tires and is a 7 speed. Ordered in...

    Export radio choices..

the difference between that and the 6666 is the 6666 has an extra filter and extra FETS for a little more power. I had the 5555. Was a good rig. Bigger than the 6666. I currently had the 6666. If a 5555v6 fell in my lap I'd keep it though.

Portable power and radio kit - home build?

Simple MC4 panel mounts (for solar panel). 20ah battery inside, 10amp solar controller, and I used a 3 pin aviation plug setup to prevent polarity error. Here it's shown with simple 110v 190w inverter you run a small fan when power went out. Again never used a panel with it yet but a 50w-75w...

Portable power and radio kit - home build?

FAT50 poly can will hold 20ah battery, 10 amp charge controlller for solar. I also mounted a switch and bolt meter on outside to monitor. I use a battery tender to charge the 20ah when needed to keep fresh. Try and find a pic later for you.

    NC shed setup. ??

So based on my QTH elevation of like 5500ft on my Arizona property, and a simple Omni antenna with a height to tip of say 50' and 500w of "juice" I get this as a projected coverage map (the map max's out at like 186 miles or something) [ve2dbe website]

Got desperate. Ordered Sirio 2016 from UK

Update in my saga  Sirio sent RadioWorldUK my replacement parts to forward to me last week. Apparently UPS WorldShip decided to damage the package to the point it never made it to me here. They sent it back to the shipper. Keep in mind this was the 3rd try at getting me the parts...

    Need radio repair?

Last time I sent in I think it was the CB Shop somewhere in California. Try looking that up. They don't cover shipping to them, but do cover its return.

    Alinco DX-SR8 user opinions?

My Alinco SR8T served me well for like 3 years. Sold to get a Yaesu 891. Easier to get auto tuner setup and had better DSP filters and such. Also smaller for field use. If you go into the menus and set your compression properly it will sound very good from what I was told when I had it.

Thinking CarlBuilt 400HD for AT6666 combo

meter has been dead on since I got it. Never ran that much power thru it. Last top amount was like 300w with the old Palomar 400. I leave it at like 3-4w dk when on AM mode which I don't run that often. like I said SSB is mainly where I hang and that seems to be reading correctly.
