Titan DX is excellent on 20 & 40 meters. i tried using it on 10 & 11 meters but performance is really lack luster. but one antenna i did find to rival the Titan Dx on 20 meters was the Imax 2000 a great performer talked into Europe and Africa at will. but on 11 meters you will far better off...
hi gear makes an excellent none amplifiedd noise counsling mic that has a richer tone then the 636 called an HG M84W works great on am & ssb on galaxy style radios that already have a lot of audio.
to bad too the Grant XL's are fantastic Cb radios. modded out for extra freq's the best receive i think on any radio and great smooth audio clean with the alc intact. and durable trouble free.
696FD1 is a great radio for the price great receive not a power house but thats nothing we don't know what to do about. mods out really well had my done using the tone dim & ch.19 button. did not have to drill any holes in the case. tone & dim give me my upper and lower channels and the ch.19...
with out a doubt hands down the 2950DX is the way to go between your final pics. totaly versital on AM and an excellent SSB radio stabill with no drift or warm up turn it on and talk. the S9 drifts and has warm up issues the voyage the same but not quite as bad. i know of many guys that use the...
put up an antron 99 that can be had for $60.00 or less get a nice used RCI 2950 or 2970 $200.00 to 300.00 a good 10 amp power supply talk SSB world wide on 20 watts. talk to the whole world for under $500.00 conditions permitting.
i think it greatly depends on which Monkey made antenna. i've tried the 17'shaft single coil 10K's the 17" shaft bad boys as well as the R4 55 and find the best out of them all to be either the Monkey Made MM4 which i truly think the 55 copied the design or the 17"shaft 10K. i find the best ears...
all that you listed will work for some world wide dx . it's all about being patient and conditions or probagation. i live in the state maryland in the USA and have talked into europe,so.america and cross the usa with a antron 99 as well as with a inverted V. with as little as 150 watts. you did...

any sugestions on the best place to send a Icom 745 for an alignment & a going over. i live in the maryland,Virginia area but don't mind sending it out to a good tech. or would it be best to send it to Icom
it maybe unatractive but they do work very very well on AM & SSB. i have had one for 2 trouble free years. keys 2 watts & swings 18. gets great reports with a D104 or a EchoMax 2000. i personaly think these radios are highly underated. for a base station with all the features it has for under $...
have a Cobra 2000 gtl and using a Turner SSK. i am being told it sounds muffled on SSB. dynamike is set @ 11:00 and mic gain on the SSK is set at bare minimum. also it does the same thing with a D104.
that ALS-600 looks great little more wattage then i want and i do want something with its own enternal power supply. have not checked out price yet. did Icom make a matching amp for the 745 that you know of ? i don't know but was hoping for something on the order of like a small XForce amp like...
actually i am looking for a solid state amp for this radio. got enough tube amps around to play with. not really looking to spend more than a $1000.00 for it. don't need a lot of watts just want sumthin to give me a little more bost when the DX rolls out of europe. 200 to maybe 500 watts for...

anybody else ever heard of the Ranger SDM-1000 mic. i know a guy that has one and uses it on a RCI radio and it's the best thing i have ever heard. it's about the size of a pack of cigeretts with a skinny neck. the guy i know tha thas one only has the box but there is no info on it. are they...
