    Any local tech should be able to get it going for you. I have an 8930 tube for mine which is a 4CX250R equivalent, with a larger anode cooler. It gives you a little more output, but requires upgrading a number of components in the amp. The BIAS supply needs to be modified. I don't recommend...

    Obviously, GLR doesn't understand the beauty of the XL500. Maybe the thought of those few extra watts out of the 2879s is what appeals to him. I wonder if we could teach him anything about properly designed and built amplifiers or just leave him to his ignorance about how great xforce is.
