Yeah ExitThirteen's is a hell of a deal! Years ago when I use to look for these / radio gear often, I don't recall being able to find just a Chipswitch by itself, just the chip, for under $200. I don't know if that is the going rate now when they pop up, but they weren't cheap.

Never hurts to have a peak inside! And I should note that MOSFET amps will not have the same style biasing circuits the bipolar / "pill" amps have, so going to look a little different should you crack one of those open.

Yes both class C. The most common "AB" biasing you see in CB amps is the resistor / diode feeding the input transformer. Not very good as far as biasing goes, but is easy to spot. The other biasing methods are generally pretty easy to see as well. A huge amount of CB amps are just class C...

To each their own is what I like to keep in mind, but this always seemed like something someone wanted to use a bunch of left over tubing / materials to create some unusual antenna; "looks" rather than performance. They look like a TV antenna though instead of a CB, to me at least.
