One big difference between Troy's antennas and that one Judge built tho...Judges crutch 10K actually worked! He won a Key-down contest with the thing...think he also had one made out of a old lawn chair too at one time.

There was a Cobra 2000 GTL listed on ebay a few weeks back where someone had attempted to do this by ripping out the innards of a Cobra 2000 and stuck what I think is a Cobra 29 board inside...didn't work out too good if you ask me, but it did sell for close to $200 with shipping...

You "DON'T" check SWR while modulating period...Whatever you see when doing that is a false reading...Don't check SWR while moving either....It will jump all over the place...

I watched that video back when I first got mine, and after looking for those parts to remove, quickly decided I didn't need a unlocked clarifier...:D

Been having problems with my 300A blowing rectifier diodes...When they go, it pop's the fuse...Had one pop about 3 months ago, had it replaced, then just the other day 2 more let go...my tech replaced the old ones with (I think he said) 1000v ones...not sure how many more original ones are left...

It's a good way to bid, without having to sit by the computer all day waiting for a auction to end....Sometimes you get a good deal under what your willing to pay, sometimes you get left out in the cold with someone beating your high bid by 5 bucks.
