Could you suggest a good Ham store that i can do on-line ? I also is in need of a 50-60 amp continious power supply to power a RCI-2970n2 Thank you. This should be enough amps to run my radio.
I am just a CB'er but like Rob i do know about studios and clear sound and all that garbage. But for all you Ham Oper. maybe you should buy this Export radio and have Chris Holland set it up for you and see for your selfs. Look at it this way if ya don't like it you can sell it. That way you...
I am more interested in that new mic. I hope that would work for me on my RCI-2970n2. As stated before in my posts ( ahh somewheres ) the Astatic 636 is too tinny for me and the RK-56 is too much bass so there i am stuck unless i pay out the wazoo for the 575. Keep me informed on that Rob. Thanks.
Cotton Mouth has a used 6 mos. old excellent cond. bought from Sparky RCI-2970n2 here in the for sale swap thread with a pic. 325.00 i believe. And JMO thats a good deal
IMHO all coil antennas are not the same. Some have a better freq. range others don't. And yes i do run below ch.1 ( a long with 60,000 other truck drivers ) The coil antenna best used for this application would be a Browning or the Bronco Buster ( Monkey Made family ) ( round coil ) I can have a...
As far as what has been stated here about FCC rules on the old 23 channel radios there is a lot of Tram 23 ch. and Brownings around here. And i don't think them people really care about a law that was put into affect so many years ago.
I had the Galaxy 98vhp and it was a good radio. Now i have a new RCI-2970n2 and i am very impressed with this rig. I have a lot more options with this radio. I am happy with my RCI-2970n2. JMO
Well here is my 2-cents. First i wanna thank Rob for taking his time to do this project. 2nd i have been around the circus since the early 70's. As one member quoted i myself too is just a cb'er who by choice starting driving a semi truck back in '77. I love to hear the quality sound of...
I personally think this unit may be better built then i thought when the non 45 first came out. And i may lean towards a purchase of this unit. But i do have the new RCI-2970n2. And as you quoted Rob is the Top Gun Mod. and the SP-1 I would like to find the phone number for Chris Holland ( the...
Booty i am glad that you have stated Base Antennas. I have played with a lot of various mobile antennas on semi trucks. And yes a lot of drivers do point them forward. On mine ( attached to a vise grips ) i have to point mine forward. I don't like going through the middle of Indy on I-70 and...
I saw on ebay 2 brand new astatic 575m6 mics for sale. Ok but what got me was i don't remember these mics being in these packages when they were for sale back when. And as i tried to look closer at the mic i could not see the sliders on each side of the mic. Hmmmm i just don't remember the...
Rob that is what i had in my AR-3500 100wt. model. You had to pull out the Mic gain knob The Sp-1a had great modulation on Am and on SSB That was the best radio i ever had. I am getting a RCI-2970n2 i may check out some feed back on installing a Sp-1a
Actually it is stated Different Strokes for Different folks Ok so he does not like clipping limiters and yet you do but do you have the right to trash the person for what he believes in ?? Oh BTW this person know how to run an open mod radio and make it sound CLEAN
