I have no science to back me..but everyone I know who has tried CP has got their butt kicked on the bowl. Yagi always wins. But simultaneously xmitting on both vertical and horizontal with the same radio...but different amps. Hmm.

A good amp builder can explain complex ideas to an idiot like me...in a way even I can understand. Doesn't mean I can build it..

If I had to choose...the external. But lengthen or shorten your antenna,. That should give you an idea which ones correct.

I'ld either go the 50v or Tube route. The Tubes give much more bang for the buck. Plus they are extremely forgiving. Wild SWR swings, +- a few thousand volts on the plate...no problem. Just keep the filament voltage rock steady.

It's the pursuit to poverty..but something about watching the watt meter going up when you smash that gas petal. That makes it all worth the while.

If the amp is run correctly and built correct, then yes. Garage in, garbage out. Put the filters before amplifying and stressing your amp.

Its not a bad idea to run a low or band pass BEFORE your amp. Also a watt meter and swr before your amp. The amp you save might be your own.

The Radio Shack *Flavor Radio" is great for narrowing noise issues. Usually the fan, fuel pump or wires. Guess you can eliminate some of those already.

A great but very fragile antenna. It didnt last long, but about as good as a 102" wip.
