I've never done buisness with him, but that time frame is not unreasonable. Its not uncommon to be backup over a year for a good tech. And why would he screw ya for a couple bucks...risk a rep?? I dont buy it.

1) A high properly tunned antenna.
2) Keep the radiated RF off the coax..choke, balun.
3) Stock radio, working low pass. Dont pinch da carrier.
4) Good RF connections...water,rust,Chicom made connectors..all bad.

Check at the antenna with a jumper to see what it is at the antenna. It should be darn near flat across the 40 channels. Its not bad for low power operation. But a 1.7:1 will cause stress on any amp or coax connections.
