Participate in the June 22-23, 2019 Effort to Revive LSB 16

I am checking in on 16 whenever I can, top of the hour, have not had skip here for a few days. Liking this idea a lot. I find 38 a bit crowded on my stock 12 watts, Will be calling as often as conditions allow. "north 7 Ontario, shouting out for the the world wide dx crew"

Fathers Day Weekend - LSB 16

I am not hard core prepper, just like to be prepared, Lived thru one disaster here, a ways back, had 15 days, no water, no electricity, no phone, no flush toilets, one child under 2, and wife 7 months pregnant at the time. Luckily I was well prepared, went through it no problems at all, even...

Fathers Day Weekend - LSB 16

Works for me ,is the same as prepper radio, on the threes, for eastern standard. Some of the preppers have adopted in a shth fan scenario, every three hours on the 3/6/9 /12 o'clock, for three mins, this gives people a guide of time to call and a way to conserve batteries,if times were tuff. So...

Fathers Day Weekend - LSB 16

Hats off to everyone for keeping at this. It will not happen over night, or be any kind of easy, there are just a few of us on here, and conditions are not like ham where we can just make contact. It makes this all the more rewarding and fun. I have told some people from other forums who I try...

Fathers Day Weekend - LSB 16

I think a time is hard, with time zones and life in general, but there are ideas I have heard, Maybe use, the top of the hour as a good time to check in, on 16. Or could be on the hour and the half hour, spin over to 16. I will get some radio time today, if mother nature is willing. " North...

Fathers Day Weekend - LSB 16

Is there any reason why skip became so entrenched on am 6, lsb 38, from a technical point of view, are these frequencies more conducive to skip, or just where people tended to group. Why does nobody ever use upper side band? Again is there something about lower that works better, Just thought I...

Skip for Low wattage Stock cb crowd lsb 30

Will be calling on 16 for sure, and all the 30's, folks if you can, move off the call channel (38) or (16) once you make contact, This is just good practice, and shows your a good operator, and it helps everyone, and it is fun as well, try usb, move around, 120 options to play with. How does Motormouth Maul get away with it?

I have been getting out right to florida from ontario, many many times a day on my stock bearcat, have 2 pages in my log book in the last 2 weeks, it's all mother nature, a decent antenna, I have to wait for the quiet spots, but it works for me most days. Would watts help , sure it would, would...

If FCC gave CB 50 watts

I am surprised by what I hear on skip. Here in Canada I do not hear the garbage I pick up from south east U.S.A .....I do not get the over modulation, makes no sense to me.On 6 AM their sounding crazy. Not even having conversations, just shouting nonsense. A clear mental health issue in my...

Gain Antenna who has Practical Knowledge

Here is the wood masted bush antenna here, not pretty I know, but I was broke, and it had to be on non metal, so there it is, funny how well this thing works, about 40 feet to the feed. Managed to get this up by myself, I tried higher, it did not go so well, laughs, so this it for now, new tower...

Gain Antenna who has Practical Knowledge

I currently run a full full wave loop, almost omni, side fed for vertical, in a rectangle shape, will ad photo. This has been very good, and the best of the lot so far, thinking my next build may be a gain antenna of some sort. Ideal would be a 4 element full wave quad, about as good as it gets...

Gain Antenna who has Practical Knowledge

How much real world difference, does a gain antenna make over your standard mono pole type antenna on cb . Just for argument sake if you replaced one of those 99 stick type antenna, with a 3 element vertical dipole, at the same height. How much of an increase in tx/rx distance and quality...

    Radioddity CB-27 CB Radio Mobile Radio | AM/FM |

I am told do not try and peak these, 8 watts is it, they just flat top on the scope, there is nothing to be gained by upping the modulation. They do not distort, they go to zero. You get zip, so they work, and they work about as good ,as they ever will right out of the box.

If FCC gave CB 50 watts

This is my thoughts as well. I run stock, I wish everyone did, I get, that"s not going to happen, but I can choose to not interact with those that do. I do not think amps are a good idea for cb radio. If you want power get your ham ticket. It is not hard to do, and a world of equipment is out...

If FCC gave CB 50 watts

yes; I understand the world were in, I am asking , based on , post about power, and moving up to ham bands for power and features , """"""WOULD , you SUPPORT , INFORCING, 4 WATTS,"""""" Perhaps I will make this a post. Not saying it is, possible, or doable, or cost effective, But if there was a...
