From what I've saw of those telescope mast, I don't see how there safe, because the pipe looks like it would be floppy in the air, thats why I always used steel pipe for my mast pipe..

I've heard alot of good things about the TS amps, and using them on the 10m band, and saw a video of one on a scope and it was clean...never ran one myself... Have ran several those XF amps over the years, when I used to talk dx on AM, and some SSB on the 11m band....now, I don't mean to open...

The Imax 2k I have is a couple years old, and 1.25" pipe won't work, I use 1" mast pipe, and have mine up 21ft off the ground and does ok there... I used to run this same antenna back on the mountain and up there it too was just 21ft off the ground and it talked really well up there...

I'm running a Imax 2k here over top a tin roof.....the antenna is 9ft above the roof line and have no reflect or any swr problems, hope this helps...

I have seen a couple builders using those Megawatt power supplies in a amp or two they was building, why are they using them ?......just curious, I saw somewhere one of them made the remark it wasn't holding the right voltage the amp needed while under a load, the guy then added another ps.......

Got a question about this Maco 3 element beam.... Like I mentioned this is a new beam, still in the box, I'd like to no what can I exspect this beam to do if I set it up to use on the 10m band compared to a dipole or the Imax 2k?..

The LMR 400 coax looks a little stiff to try wrapping it around a 4" form....this is why I was going to use a 6" form... When I thought about using a choke I was looking into setting this beam up for the 11m band nothing else, but now I'm looking at using it on the 10 and 11m...

Out of those radios I'd go with the 142...if you look around you may find one thats not been butchered up and have mods in it.....those radios will take about any mod you want to put in one....

The Imax 2k, I bought it new a few years ago I set the swr on it and used it on the 11m band....I set the swr on channel 20, 27.2050, and the swr was all good on the upper end of the band, because at the time I used to talk dx on 28, as well as the ssb channels from 36 up...and the swr was...

Cool, the beam is new still in the box... The Imax, has a 1.1 swr on 28.305.00 to 28.500.00....when I talk the swr peaks at a 2....this was with the rf power set on a 100 watts, thats what the factory had it set at.....so guess its ok to use on this part of the 10m band..
