Ed, You forgot about the Rci-2950dx that covers 12m. And yes i am using my 2950dx, But i will say this much, The Optima is one fine radio that i may purchase another one and keep it this time and use this for a Base Station.

I agree, I am running a Rci-2950dx with a Wilson mag mount 1000, And for the mic, I am using the Astatic D-104m6 backed with a Palomar Magnum and i am getting great reports with my set-up. And Skip is coming around. Made some contacts on Am and SSB.

OK after all the B.S. I too am a member of the S.F. DX group My call sign is 2SF548 and it does say there home frequency is 27.420 lsb. I have no problem with a Rci-2950dx going to this frequency.

Me and a friend of mine ( who was into 11-meter ) installed a 40' tower in my neighborhood, I was pleased with this little 40' tower. And so was my wife who by the way operated the Base Station while i was in my Semi-Truck. Worked out great.
