1: It affected me when I used to use CB. I learned. I gave it up (mostly) If you do not like what you hear. You turn it off, or go away. It currently does not bother me.
2: No
3:Yes. "criminals"...
I meant like discussing illegal CB amps.. using non type-accepted gear, and the like.
All in all... radio is radio.... I do not wanna seem like one of those "Elitists" I put my pants on the same as anyone else.

Just as long as the CBer follow the FCC regilations on that service.. they are fine with me :) I've known some of the best folks ever on 11m..
Just the "illegals" are the ones who mess it up.
This is probably a rhetorical question...
Looks like a good site.. except that the "Illegal Good Buddy" stuff going on here....
Should I be sorry I joined here?
The firmware cannot be "flashed" it is a "write once" chip. I had one where my display contrast went to nothing... you can see the display.. if you look at it at the right angle, under right light conditions.
I bought another. Mine does what your does sometimes.. but if I turn it off, then...
Hey Paul.. didn't know you had one :) Well... anymore, who doesn't. Hopefully you got your issue squared away. I had a little trouble using Win7.. but when I got it ironed out, it works great. The latest drivers are a must.. especially if using Vista or Win7

Set "Channel Display Way" the way you want it... AND set the "Step Frequency" to that appropriat frequency steps.. say 5 khz, otherwise when you upload a frequency into memory, you may get an "out of range error"
I have two... each have 2 meters, one has 440, and the other 220, as they are dual band.
They work great. 2 friends have one. No complaints....
They are FCC approved, unlike most other Chines radios, hence the influx of folks who own them.
