:thumbup: You guys are going to enjoying this waay too much! wish i was going, Turkey hunting starts for me on the 13th and i have to work that weekend. So have fun, and don't "stimulate" the economy too much. What the F is all this twitter shiite!:headbang it's all about the...
 thanks for the info about someone still having a surplus. I might have to pull out one of them since the XYL got her license. Just set it up as a dedicated tech radio.
well is it?
I still haven't decided on a vert for myself, only space that will be available wil be the back corner of the lot once my tennadyne T-10 goes up in the air.....unless i decide to install a "flagpole" in the front of the house.
:tt2: naw, you most definately would not have to give up thee olde Charlie Bravo band. And i thought this post was about some hot honey roasted ham ...maybe on a roll:lol:
I don't know, i know a lot of Charlie Bravos that have some pretty sweet ham gear for decent prices. Besides who cares what they are selling if they can generate a little income that obammajamma can't tap more power to them. I think there are more important issues to be concerned about... like...
Rick,
Thanks for the additional update. Actually it was "Darkrfoverlord" somehow when they transitioned from the old forum the dark somehow was dropped. It was a nickname because a bunch of my 11mtr. freinds would try to get me to come over to the darkside. Hi Hi
Mole, I run a homebrewed "cobra ultrlite" 30ft apex and the ends are on poles 16ft off the ground as an inverted V it loads up on 160 and is great on every thing else. I made it out of rad shack rotor control wire fed with 32.5 ft of 450 ohm ladder line going to a DX Engineering 1:1 balun (or...
Wow this died pretty quick, I'm going to get the chrome moly why go cheap now! Actually i just wanna be able to sleep at night when the winds a howlin
change again going to stick with the DOM 1/4" wall 1/2 the cost of the cro-moly almost as strong and a lot less wieght, i'll put the savings...
Rick,
Very nice, keep us updated how that worked out for you. I decided i need a vert. but haven't decided on which one. Leaning towards a 5 btv already have a gap titan but haven't used it since it is very picky on 75/80 (capacitor).
Maybe if we get lucky some low power anti obamajamma english speaking pirate station will get in there. Instead of low power other than english speaking station getting in there. but rest assure there will be someone out there capitalising on a little less compitition.
:thumbup:I would use the 2600 with the chipswitch and leave the 2510's alone. i have 3 (2510) myself and will not part with them, been down that road before ended costing more money to get one back. The 2600 also has a tone board for fm repeaters. Besides with the chipswitch and a few other...
HH, well i ask myself the same thing. but now that the XYL got her ticket and iv'e shown her how to use findu she knows when to fire up the grill when i leave work and when to add the ice to my glass so it's ready when i get home. Iv'e been using it for hunting spots up north and since i hunt...
the gulfalpha's are 8l vert and horz. each 2mtr. 12' boom (2.4sq) the 70cm. is the same but 8ft boom (1.5sq.). they will be on an "oscar" boom at least 6ft above the T 10 and then a GP-15 4ft. above them. well talking with a few others around here they just use galvanized pipe with reinforcing...
last i knew you had the ZIA net in that area, i could get into cheyenne wy. from along the arizona/new mexico borders. I don't remember the the 2 mtr. freqs. but this was done with a 5 watt. ht. and was pretty reliable. I wouldn't put too much into the 1 1/4 mtr. anywhere for emergency contacts.
The antenna is a tennadyne t 10 10 sq. and 2 gulfalpha's on a crossboom another 3sq. and a vert. tribander. the t 10 will be within 1 ft. from top of tower.
So how big is your tri-bander (boom length) and your six mtr.? Basically I'm going to have the hf within 1ft. of the top of the tower a tennadyne T 10. the 2mtr. and 70cm. will have vertical elements so i would like to keep them at least one wave length (2mtr.) above it.
I'm just trying not to...
