Hello All: Ok Iam seeing or even hearing that this a manual for the General Radiotelephone M12 in the hole world! The diagram schematic for the MC11A is the closest thing out there. Theres plenty of two tube plate modulator circuits out there, so one can see hows its done and make MC12 updated...
Good going Steve Huff, a great accomplishment. But the electric cars leave a little of the good ol days behind. No loud engine noise with the aroma of burnt gas, all the Honeys hanging around, all the racing going on in the parking lot after the main drag races. The racing impression it leaves...
Hello 226 Texas: Yes I do, I talked to a bunch of stations that day. I sometimes can hear stations barley coming over the noise and some AM Stations that seem to annoyed by SSB stations.

WOW! Channel 16 LSB sounding like old times. Went out to the Advanced State of the Art Facility, umm the garage, turned on all the radio apparatus's, takes a while for everything to get all warmed. Listening in as working I heard many SSB LSB stations talking, on CH16, 27.155 Mc LSB. This is...
Hello UR336: That sounds like a neat project. How are to feeding - matching it to the twin lead. Antennas Tuner? Do Tell please.

Well it appears the 5 element beam needs to be put back up. After 20years up it needed repair and clean up. This is a Crusader 10K 5 element yagi beam antenna, with up dates and make look pretty so it works better. I mostly used it make contacts with South pacific island stations. Now Hong Kong...
Thats a great contact, way to go. Out here in the So Ca Mojave Desert I have heard Japanese, I think fishing boats probably near Japan. Hearing a Deslie engine in the back ground audio of there transmissions at a constant RPM makes me think it was a fishing boat. I called several times but no...
Yeah throwing a little more power to the tower switch to ON, is needed as there's quit a bunch of stations bleeding over from17 and even 15, not to mention some high Power boys on 16. I made just two contacts the other day and had some guy on 16 AM go coo coo for coocooo puffs cussing at me and...
Hello All: Anything can be modified, but it sure is taking the long long way to get there. That modification is just plan not practical. Cheaper, easier, and way less hair pulling would be to use a inexpensive scanner radio. Keeping an ear on the weather is a great help. I know got caught in a...
Hello all: The trick thing with stacked vertical beams is setting up phasing coax switch that can switch the beams in phase or 180 degrees out of phase. The in phase mode the beams work normally. But out of phase you have only the gain of one antenna, but you will have significant null -30 to...
Hello. It appears to be a Hy-Gain 4element beam antenna, what band or frequency don't know. The driven element is electrically isolated from the boom. Which may not allow the duel gamma matches work. The original matching system was a hair pin matching system. You can see the hair pin in the...
Yeah I like that idea the radios and accessories in a ammo can. Got a big porker run coming up were 50 or more jeeps and other 4x4 vehicles all run a off road porker run contest, and big raffle and BBQ after all the hoo raw.
I set up CB, VHF, and UHF antennas and radios at the camp site so...
Sounds likes its ah hummin and a buzzin, good deal. At 1.75 in and 55 out thats right at 9 dB gain. Thats more than doubling your transmitted range. Consider your self a "Big Strapper"

Its hard to help out when your not there. But as said before the noise source is the place to start. I take it you have ignition noise. Are the spark plugs, wires, rotor cap, and rotor old and wore out, needing replacement????? I have seen old spark wires arc all over the place as the...
Yes thats also a good call grounding all the body parts. One the best things I did in my Ford truck was to connect the fire wall to the hood and front fenders. Then ground the exhaust pipes in two different locations on the pipes to the frame and body.
