11 meter is very quiet?

There was lots of short hop skip yesterday afternoon.

Around 6:00P.M., I had a good conversation with 909 in Freeport, Bahamas. That's about 220 miles as the crow flies from here. At first, I assumed he was in one of the U.S. cities named Freeport, but he clarified. I was kind of surprised to be making that kind of range.

265 in Fort Myers, FL was about 130 miles away. I could barely make him out.

101 in Pensacola, just under 500 miles away had a good, steady signal as did 901 in Jacksonville, FL.

Yesterday afternoon was definitely the day for short hop skip around here.

Well today could be my unlucky day. An A99 at 75 or so feet, in a pine tree and never unhooked. Like I said, today might be my unlucky day. So far though luck has been on my side.
