11 meter is very quiet?

They lied. I was talking to California on Friday, last and heard a poof. Smoked my 8 pill. When I checked my swr with my analyzer it read infinity. I undid my coax and that bakelite on the PL-259 connector was black and melted. Toasted the whole length of coax as well. My eight pill would do about 1500 watts....so like I said ...they lied. Most expensive coax per foot I ever purchased and the worst quality for the price. Again, I will never buy Times microwave LMR-400 EVER again!!!!
By the way, my swr was 1.03:1 before the "poof" so it wasn't due to a high match.

Sorry. Sincerely.
(Pass the Rye).

WOW! Good to know! Anyone want to buy a 500ft roll of 400? Real cheap.....

Unplugged radio gear & disconnected antennas mid afternoon Monday because of storms. Friday morning and still unhooked.

We've been having thunderstorms with lots of lightning and big time rain every afternoon and/or night this week.

Add that to the high heat index and humidity and I'm beginning to think I live in the Amazon Rain Forest. :barefoot:

96 to 104 F today, bloody hot and humid, will last till next week thursday, then cooling off a bit with thunderstorms.
Just been lazy today WSJT-X working Japan and all EU on 6/10/20, let the computer do the work, sipping coffee here .... in front of a large fan.
Off to the next shower, as if that helps...

Barely any skip yesterday or this morning in Houston. Nothing to hear except log haulers coming up US59. Enjoyable as most knew each other. Friday and quittin’ time. How many loads next week. Daniels got a truck for sale, etc

Left it on 38-LSB about a half hour and nada.

Reinstalled WILSON 2000 pair after stop at Shreveport to buy some boudin. Bought a replacement for the one stolen. I’m always surprised that metal antennas are quieter than fiberglass. Still noise, but it’s as if two of three noise sources removed. More of a hiss, now. Steady, soft, . .
