11 meter is very quiet?

Just talked to "Triple Three" Alabama, he was talking local this morning so I gave him a shout. Thought I heard Train Man, not sure.

Anyone else on the air this early? I usually talk to the locals while I am getting a cup of coffee and putting on my boots in the morning. Then at 6:00 I hit the road and the rat race begins for the day. Thankfully, I work about ten minuets away from home. Then I hit the clock and see what broke last night. Haha!

Yep. Triple 3 is his skip handle. All the locals call him BIGFOOT. He runs out of Jacksonville,Al He is just on the other side of coldwater mountain from me. We talk daily, so it may have been me in there. I have been working on some Galaxy radios the last few days and really like the old DX-66V I just finished off. It has monster audio...probably twice as loud as my regular rig. I'm always surprised that peeps can hear me running my "scatter stick" antron that is mounted on a 3 foot tripod just outside the shop door, but I know it's Mother Nature. I need to replace 150' of LMR-400 with RG213 so I can use my Shockwave that's up on my 45 foot tower. I ran 3.2kw thru my Shockwave about 3 months ago and it melted the coax like grilled cheese...lol. Been too busy to climb the tower to do the coax swap, so I just stuck a antron outside the door to talk with the locals for my repair shop. I'll see ya...bye bye bye
CHOO-CHOO ! Trainman stepping

Best price I've seen on mil spec belden Rg213 was $2.75/ft and non mil spec belden Rg213 was $1.15/ft.
I need to get off my ass and go see what that spool of hard line is out in the semi trailer.

Some very faint CW signals from Europe, nothing else...
Well, that was this morning early, noww a full blast contest is going on kilowatts and beams galore, 5/9+ on OCF and Imax 2000 from 10 down on most bands, bar a few WARC bands...
